Two events are taking place on Wednesday October 31 which promise to deliver thrills and chills for all who dare take part.

First, Halloween House at 37 King Street will fling open its doors and welcome children into its cold embrace. 

Home owner Melissa Milosevic has been hard at work with a gang of ghoulish helpers to decorate the house with all things Halloween and will open its doors on Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Sweets, fairy floss and lollipops will be handed out to children, who will get to explore the interactive decorations. 

Ms Milosevic has even hired fire twirlers to perform, and special guest ‘Boff the Halloween dog’ will make an appearance in his spider costume. 

The other major attraction will be a pretend body floating in the pool. 

“We’ll be opening up the back deck area so the kids can look down and see the body floating,” Ms Milosevic said.

This will be the seventh year Ms Milosevic has opened the house up for Halloween.

Entry to the house will be free of charge.

Meanwhile, for the first time the old Pleasant Creek Hospital will be opened up for the spookiest night of the year.

Property owner Keenan Quinsee will open the front of the hospital for visitors to wander through the decrepit halls and check out the site, which has been shut up for 18 years. 

Mr Quinsee said he has had multiple brushes with the restless former inhabitants while working on the site, and has been adding all sorts of horrors for visitors on Halloween.

Mr Quinsee said that he wants to offer people a taste of what the hospital is like on the inside before he opens it up for tours next year.

The hospital will be open from 5pm to 8.30pm and will include interactive displays, prizes for the best dressed, and lolly bags for kids.
