POLICE are calling for witnesses after a man robbed an Ararat gaming venue on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at a High Street venue.
Police were told a man with his face covered entered the venue’s bistro area just after 12.30am.
The man approached staff at the bar and produced a small crowbar before making demands for cash.
Staff handed over a large amount of cash and the offender fled the scene.
No one was injured.
Police said the man was last seen running through the venue’s car park towards the subway area on Birdwood Avenue.
They said a number of patrons were at the gaming venue at the time of the incident.
Police said the offender was wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper pulled over his face, with dark-coloured pants and blue surgical gloves.
Police want to speak to any patrons or witnesses, or anyone who saw the offender or suspicious activity in the area.
They have asked people to call Ararat Police Station on 5355 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
