Neale Daniher and his support crew convoy stopped by the town at about 3.30pm having commenced their journey earlier in the morning.
Daniher's Drive is an event of the Fight MND organisation, working to find a cure for the so far incurable disease.
Daniher said the reception he received from the people of Stawell was “amazing”.
“We have been made to be very welcome and have loved the fact the community has welcomed us to the town,” he said.
“When we did out first drive we passed through this area so it is great to be able to stop into Stawell, a famous town.”
Main Street and the Stawell Club was a sea of blue MND shirts with the massive support crew stopping and talking to people in the community.
A ‘Stawell Gift egg and spoon’ race was run to embrace the town’s biggest event and create a fun atmosphere.
“I have watched the Gift keenly over the years, but I’m not sure we will have as high a standard but it will be a bit of fun,” Daniher said.
“We are about fun and fundraising and getting out and meeting the people who have supported us from out in the country. It is good for us to come and say hello.
“MND affects people everywhere in every town. We need to find a treatment and cure and that is why we fight.
The convoy continued onto Horsham where it will continue its journey through the Wimmera.
More to come.
