Tatyoon took on Penshurst in the contest, with both teams prepared for a close one.
The Hawks got on top early, which proved crucial later in the game.
“Our whole aim was to come out firing and make them chase us,” Tatyoon 15-and-under coach Laura McDougall said.
The weather made a violent turn part way into the game, with a significant amount of rain pouring down to make things tough.
“Once the weather turned all we had to do was hold our centres. The girls stayed calm and composed in the wet which was crucial,” McDougall said.

The rain forced the game to be abandoned temporarily in the third term, with the excess water needing to be cleared off.
“Three girls in a row went down so it needed to be dried up,” McDougall said.
The Bombers surged late in the final term but were unable to cut the deficit, losing 22-18.
McDougall said her side “deserved the win”.
“They have worked so hard all season, losing just one game,” she said.
“It was a big relief.”
Tatyoon's Georgia Richardson won the best on court award.
