Detective Senior Constable Mal Wineberg said offenders gained entry through a door that they forced opened.
The door is located between the foyer and canteen of the railway station.
“The break-in occurred between 6am and 9.30pm. At this stage we are still investigating what is missing,” he said.
Detective Senior Constable Wineberg asked for anyone with any information or CCTV of the area to contact CrimeStoppers 1800 333 000 or the Ararat Crime Investigation Unit on 5355 1500.
