St Arnaud police have issued more than 50 penalty notices over the last month for speeding offences along the Wimmera and Sunraysia Highways in St Arnaud.
Speeds of up to 164km/h have been recorded in the 100 km/h zone, behaviour police say they will not tolerate.
“We are urging motorists in and around St Arnaud to be aware of road conditions and speed limits,” St Arnaud Sergeant Bill Alford said.
“Police will be actively enforcing speed limits as well as targeting drink and drug drivers, especially with school holidays approaching.
“If you are ever in a rush, just remember to slow down and take your time to get to your destination safely.”
