She was eight votes clear of Tatyoon’s Lexie Carter and twin sister and teammate Kate Millear. Both Kate Millear and Carter recorded 20 votes to share the runner-up title.
“They (Louise and Kate) are two great up and coming netballers so it’s great to see them pick up some more awards,” Magpies A Grade coach Melissa Lewis said.
Magpies 17-and-under coach Kim Thom said both of the twins had standout seasons.
“It is an amazing achievement for the bot of them to have done so well,” she said.
“Lou had an amazing year – she totally stepped up and I think a boost in confidence has done her wonders.
“Both of their passion for the sport is great to see. I had a little tear in my eye to see them both up there with their awards.”

Tatyoon’s Grace Astbury and Moyston-Willaura’s Scarlett Burmeister fell one-vote short in the 15-and-under best and fairest count. They finished as runners-up to Glenthompson-Dunkeld’s Olivia Anagnostou who won with 22 votes.
Anagnostou was four votes back from Astbury and Burmeister leading into the final two rounds but two votes in both of the final two games got her across the line to win the 15-and-under best and fairest.
There is no best and fairest award for the 13-and-under competition.
The Mininera and District Netball Association season will conclude next weekend with grand finals at Ararat’s Alexandra Oval.
