Woorndoo-Mortlake's Jess Cameron has taken out the Mininera District Netball Association’s top award following another excellent season.
Cameron won her second A Grade best and fairest at the association’s vote count night at Dunkeld on Wednesday evening.
It was a thrilling vote count, with Cameron polling three votes in the final round to pip Penshurst’s Leah Mirtschin by one vote.
Cameron finished on 28 votes including eight best on ground performances throughout the 17-round season.

Mirtschin polled in 11 games, one more than Cameron, but was pipped in the last round after receiving no votes. Wickliffe-Lake Bolac’s Kelsey Perry was not far back on 24 votes, while Tatyoon’s Jacqui McDougall recorded 21 votes.
“It was a tense and nervous finish to the count which was very exciting,” MDNA president Sarah Alderman said.
“It was nice to have a close one in the top competition.”
About 140 people were in attendance at Dunkeld on Wednesday night to celebrate the individual success of players from the season.
“It was a good night that everyone enjoyed,” Alderman said
