The Eagles defeated Tatyoon 27-25 in a tight and tense B Grade qualifying semi-final at Tatyoon on Saturday.
The Hawks had more shots at goal than the Eagles but could not convert as accurately in the tight contest.
500-gamer Toni Chegwin was best on court for the Eagles while Tiarne Smith was a standout for the Hawks.
The Hawks will have to get through Glenthompson-Dunkeld next if they want to join their A Grade side on grand final day and get another chance at the Eagles. Glenthompson-Dunkeld eliminated Woorndoo-Mortlake to keep its season alive.
The Hawks had better luck in C Grade, defeating Penshurst 15-17 to advance straight to the grand final.
The teams were tied at three-quarter-time but the Hawks were too strong in the final term.
The Bombers will take on Woorndoo-Mortlake in the C Grade preliminary final next weekend.
If Tatyoon’s B Grade side wins its preliminary finals the Hawks will have all three senior netball teams in the grand final.
Its 17-and-under and 15-and-under sides also have the potential to join those sides at Alexandra Oval on grand final day, also playing preliminary finals next weekend.
Next weekend’s preliminary finals are at Willaura.
