The Pumas and Bombers faced off in a do-or-die clash, with the Bombers going in as firm favourites.
It was the Pumas that struck first however, opening out to a 10-5 quarter-time lead.
“We came out hard and wanted to win,” Pumas A Grade coach Zanetta Hosking said.
“We fought for the ball and set up our whole game from a good start.”
Moyston-Willaura continued its form in the second term, keeping firm grasp on an eight-goal lead. The Bombers were not finished with however, reducing the deficit to just four goals by the final break.
The final term was a nervous one for the Pumas, as they clung to a narrow lead.
They did enough to hold on and record an upset 31-30 victory.
“Our pressure defensively was incredible all game. They are a hard team to stop down the court so I think we did a great job to stop their flow and momentum,” Hosking said.
“Our defence line really stood up for us.”
Hosking said the finish to the game was “incredibly intense”.
“We remained composed and worked hard to not let them get ahead of us,” she said.
“We definitely had the belief we could beat them.”
The Pumas will face Woorndoo-Mortlake in a preliminary final next weekend.
