Lakin and Scott both finished with 30 votes after the 18 rounds.
Lakin led at the end of eight rounds after polling three votes in all of the first six games. Scott came home strong to win alongside Lakin.
Scott said she was happy to receive the award.
“My coaches and teammates supported me all year,” she said.
“I’d like to thank mum for taking me to all the games and Donna Spalding for coaching me and getting me here. I need to thank my team and Molly too.”
Lakin said she thought Scott would have beaten her in the end.
“I’m pretty relieved, I thought Racquel might have had me in the end, she definitely came home strong,” she said.
“I was a bit surprised, I thought some of my teammates would have taken some votes off me.
“My parents have made a big commitment this year. I also want to thank all my coaches and interleague coaches too.”
In the 15 and under B grade, Horsham’s Kate Sleep took out the award from Stawell’s Jemma and Charli Peters.
Sleep said she has enjoyed playing at Horsham.
“My coach and my team manager have been great,” she said.
“Amanda was such a great coach and I need to thank my parents for taking me to training and the girls I need to thank are my teammates.
“It’s fantastic at Horsham and it’s a great community to play in. It’s great fun.”
