The ladies were challenged by an 18 hole medley this week. Playing in pairs they had to negotiate six holes of Pinehurst, six holes of Chapman and six of Canadian.
The team coming out on top was Margie Kilpatrick and Gayle Dadswell who finished with a nett score of 70 from their combined handicap of 54. Helen Tucker and Goldie Rowe played off a team handicap of 51 and their score of 73½ was enough to claim runners up honours.
Conditions were extremely heavy for the stableford on Saturday and only a small field took to the course. The winner was Chris Dohnt while nearest the pins were picked up by Dadswell and Rene Hamilton.
Better conditions on Monday saw numbers swell for the nine hole stableford event on offer. Making it look easy was rookie golfer Kay Mawson who continues to make steady improvement. Her score of 18 points was just one ahead of Hamilton who had to settle for runner up.
Next week the ladies will participate in the annual grudge match, President’s team v Captain’s team. This is an individual stableford event with all players being randomly selected for one of the teams.
