The final five seems set for 2018. It was fascinating watching the last few rounds pan out. There were three teams vying for fifth spot. SMW Rovers will rue missed opportunities in their tight loss to Lismore-Derrinallum, it ultimately cost them a finals spot. The only team with any chance of sneaking in is Moyston-Willaura, however they play Lismore-Derrinallum and must keep them to a low score and win by at least 10 goals to make up 10 per cent and rely on Tatyoon getting well beaten by SMW Rovers.

The Prestige football club is hosting a reunion celebrating its 30th year since winning the 1988 Ararat Association football Premiership.
Centre bounce remembers many legends who played for Prestige; Bluey Richards Captain coach of the 1966 premiership side come to mind along with 1970-80s greats Johnny Coole and Leo Moonee. Lets not forget the incredible hulk Rene Kink started his senior career at Prestige.
In other news congratulations to Shane Dempsey who umpired his 500th senior match last week for the western district umpires association. Shane was a gun full forward kicking multiple 100 + goals a year. A terrible accident cut short his career. He turned his hand to umpiring and has become one of the most respected umpires in our league.
Finally: anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.
