Club members selected several collections of clothing to wear from the Salvation Army during their annual fashion show on Thursday last week.
There was a variety of clothing on show – from pyjamas to ball gowns, rock and roll outfits to fishing gear.
Organiser Jan Murphy said people didn’t realise the quality of clothing some of the second-hand stores offered.
The Ararat Senior Citizens Club members donated $1000 to the Ararat Salvation Army.
Ararat Salvation Army captain Greg Turnbull said it was great to have the support.
“They have made this donation every year for as long as I have been here, which is six years,” he said.
“It means a lot. The money always stays in the town.
“The money will go towards emergency relief and victims of domestic violence which will provide food, clothes and furniture for those victims.”
