Hawks, Magpies and Pumas join winners list
Tatyoon, Wickcliffe-Lake Bolac and Moyston-Willaura maintained their positions on the A Grade ladder at second, fourth and seventh respectively after solid wins at the weekend.
The Hawks mid-court of centre Jacqueline Mcdougall and wing attack Jane Astbury dominated in their 50-goal win against Hawkesdale-Macarthur, helping provide 101 scoring shots for their side and limiting the Eagles to only 40 for the match.
The Hawks comfortably prevailed 73-23.
In Lake Bolac, the Magpies built on their lead at every change and came out 34-goal winners over Ararat.
Goal defense Kelsey Perry and wing attack Melissa Lewis played well for the Magpies, while centre Carly Croton and defender Holly Leggett were among Ararat’s best. The Magpies finished in front 71-37.

The Pumas also obtained an early lead in their match against Great Western and ended the game ahead 58-18.
Standout performances were recorded by goal keepers Melinda Beal (Pumas) and Dayle Bird (Lions) who were joined on the best players list by the Lion Kim Shalders and Puma Georgie Peel.
Rovers hold off Swans
SMW Rovers rectified a round 12 draw with a narrow win over Caramut at Mininera in round 13 at the weekend.
The first quarter was an even contest with the Rovers scoring 13 from 18 attempts while the Swans were able to convert at a more accurate 86 per cent and netted 12 from 14 to go into the first break one-goal down.
The Rovers lifted in the second and third quarters, winning the second term by five goals and the third term by two to go into the three-quarter break with an eight-goal lead. Rovers goal attack Carly Mitchell and centre Angela Brain were difficult to contain.
Despite Caramut winning the final quarter 17 to 12, it was not enough to overcome the erase the deficit, with the Rovers winning 52-49.
