It is 50 years since the silver trophy was donated by the lady golfers of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in 1969 to recognise their close ties with Chalambar.
Winner this year was Gayle Dadswell whose 33 points was the best score of the day. This also gave her the win in Division 1 in front of Lyn Thomas who scored 31.
In Division 2 a countback was needed to decide that Marlene Goudie would take the honours from Sue White when both players finished with 31 points.
Chris Hurstfield had a successful week taking out Saturday’s stableford, with 31 points, and a nearest the pin on the 16th hole. Dadswell was the closest on the sixth green.
A good field of ladies battled it out in the nine-hole stableford on Monday. Therese Jess showed some fine touch to finish with 20 points and take the win. Runner up Margie Kilpatrick scored 16 to outpoint Mary Halstead in a count back.
