Global Wind Day is coordinated between Global Wind Energy Council, WindEurope and national associations to introduce the general public to wind energy.
Act on Climate Victoria is a campaign for renewable energy run by Friends of the Earth.
The group has frequently been involved in the state’s energy price and reliability debate, which has often centered around western Victoria’s wind farms.
Act on Climate coordinator Leigh Ewbank said Ararat region communities could be really proud of the part they had played to help combat climate change.
“Ararat Wind Farm is a fantastic example of the type of thing we’d like to see more of in Victoria,” he said.
“Global Wind Day is about celebrating all the benefits of wind energy development.”
