All four teams had the long weekend off but the round eight fixture looks to be an enticing one with both match-ups expected to be good contests.

The Mounties will be hoping to continue their rise up the ladder when they take on the ladder-leading Warriors.

A win for the Mounties could see them move above the Rovers if results go their way.

In the other match, it will be the Bombers who will be out to get the points against the Rovers.

The Bombers currently sit at the bottom of the ladder but a win against the Rovers could see them move a game clear of the Mounties in third position if the Warriors also win.

With the competition entering the final rounds before finals, teams will be starting to eye off the finals with good performances at this stage of the season making the postseason more realistic.

Association president Jamie Toner said the season has already been a big success to this point. “Our numbers have increased with it being the highest its been for a while,” he said.

“We have 93 kids registered at this stage which is great.

“The feedback from families has been the enjoyment level has been high as well as the kids learning the skills of the game and improving them along the way.”

The association is also preparing for the Turner-Pickering challenge against Stawell on June 20 with the under-12 carnival to follow on June 22 in Horsham.
