Grampians State Emergency Service regional duty officer Gavin Kelly said it was a surprisingly quiet night for call-outs.
“The Horsham Unit were very lucky and had no call-outs at all,” he said.
“In Ararat we had a call out to a residential property with a leaky roof.
“There was water coming in from the ceiling, caused by the wind driving the rain heavy into the house.
“It’s not uncommon and we do see that from time to time.”
He said residents were lucky the storm caused minimal damage.
“We were very thankful that nothing major happened,” he said.
“Given it was a long-weekend, the weather was quite good to us.
“However, it looks like this stormy weather and heavy rains will be settling in for the week.”
Heavy rain was recorded across the Wimmera, with many towns receiving their highest levels for the month so far.
Horsham received 12.4mm on Monday night and into Tuesday morning, while Ararat received 18mm during the same time period.
Stawell received 16.6mm, Edenhope received 14.4mm, Nhill received 8.4mm and Warracknabeal received 14mm.
Multiple residents in Edenhope, Natimuk, Grass Flat, Duchembegarra, Arapiles, Mitre, Kenmare and Rainbow were left without power overnight and into Tuesday morning.
Powercor revealed most outages were caused by lighting strikes.
