Stawell Rotary Club has had a number of projects supporting the educational work of the local special school at Skene Street.
Skene Street serves children from towns including Stawell and Ararat.
In 2015-16, a major Rotary effort allowed the Stawell club to provide resources for the purchase of audience chairs for the school's assembly hall.
This year's effort was much more modest, as members presented a moveable sand/water table for the student's sensory garden at a cost of $675.
This included a $500 donation from the former Stawell Neighbourhood Watch Committee, which was given to Rotary to support a local project.
Skene Street currently has 46 students, from prep to year 12 and aged from 5 to 18 years.
The sensory garden, which according to teacher Carol Hately is still a work in progress, is an area with gardens, pathways and interesting articles and equipment.
It has been specially designed to stimulate interest and enjoyment for the school's students.
The school is still looking to further develop the area.
It would welcome further Rotary and community support.
