An Ararat resident’s tip-off to police has helped catch two thieves in the act.

On Saturday afternoon, a concerned resident told police about two suspicious males in Ararat.
Police arrived on-scene to find two men allegedly stealing building materials.
One man, who allegedly had stolen goods from two burglaries in Ararat the previous day, was arrested.
The other man has also been arrested and both will appear in court at a future date.
“A great example of the community helping police to help the community,” Police said on Facebook.
