Before the games commenced, Ararat RSL’s Wilbur Wilde read the ode and marked one minutes of silence leading up to Anzac Day.
The Warriors and Rovers played in the first game, with the Warriors coming away victors.
Darcy Aitken booted three majors for the winning side in the 5.10 (40) to 1.11 (17) win.
Byron Hemley was the sole goalkicker for the Rovers.
Sam Allgood(Warriors) and Dane Cardinaels (Rovers) were best on ground for their teams.
The Bombers and Mounties met in the other match of the day.
Despite leading after the first break, the Mounties could not keep up with the Bombers for the whole game, going down 5.5 (35) to 2.5 (17).
Reggie Jenkins finished with two goals for the Bombers. Sam Philips (Bombers) and Will Chamings (Mounties) were best for their teams.
