“It’s time to slow down a bit,” Bowers Chiropractic Centres chiropractor Walter Bowers said.
Mr Bowers opened the clinic in early 1972.
“I studied in the US and came back to Australia in 1971,” Mr Bowers said.
“I worked in Melbourne for a year and then had the choice of going to many cities in Australia. But I chose Ararat and Stawell.”
Over his 46 years in Ararat he has treated thousands of patients.
He assists people with spinal problems, migraines, asthma and other conditions.
“I would like to say a big thank you and what an honor it has been to be in Ararat.”
But Mr Bowers will still be working as chiropractor.
He will be working from Stawell, rather than Ararat, for three afternoons a week from Wednesday to Friday.
He hopes he will see some of his old customers in Stawell.
Mr Bowers said “I’ve practiced as a chiropractor for 47 years. I want to get to 50 years.”
