Great Western’s A grade team returned to the court with a positive performance, leading the side to a big 37-18 win to get the four points against Caramut in the round one clash on Saturday.
Early inaccuracy in the goal ring saw the Lions convert only four goals from 13 attempts in the first quarter before improving their conversion rates during the remaining three quarter to eventually finish the game 19 goals in front of Caramut.
A tight Lions defense consisting of Tayla Lembo in goal defence and Amy Kindred as goal keeper made it difficult for Caramut to gain momentum and score enough to get the points and were named Great Western’s best.
Goal attack Hayley Mann and center Luella Foster were named in the bests for the Swans while.
The Lions will be going for back-to-back wins when they host Hawkesdale-Macarthur in round two action.
