March figures released on Friday showed just 76.9 per cent of Ballarat V/Line services arrived on time, almost three per cent below the previous bottom figure.
The statistic is more than five per cent worse than the figure from February and is a whopping 15 per cent off V/Line’s stated goal of 92 per cent punctuality.
V/Line chief executive James Pinder said “we apologise to Ballarat line passengers for the delays to services last month and will be taking a closer look at the reasons behind this”.
“Trains stopping at stations longer than scheduled, signal faults and train faults were the main reasons for the drop in punctuality.”
