With a life-size plane mounted on the back of a trailer, it was about as close to the real thing as most rural Australians would want to get.
Participants were able to board the Aeromedical Simulator aircraft, which was full of the medical equipment designed to keep patients stable while they are transported to hospital.
There was even an opportunity to sit in the pilot’s seat and get behind the controls.
Instructor Tom Ryan took the children on a tour of the stretchers, communications equipment, and oxygen equipment used by the doctors, nurses and pilots.
Ararat Regional LIbrary’s school holiday program will continue with the Splish Splash Science Show on Friday, April 13, from 11am to 12pm.
