Marian College marks the most important season of the Catholic Church in an annual Passion of Christ followed by the Stations of the Cross at Ararat’s J Ward.
The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day.
The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of the day of Jesus’s crucifixion.
Specific prayers are recited at each station until all 14 are complete.
Senior students solemnly took on the key roles of the event.
The reenactment and Stations of the Cross is a celebration of the school’s Catholic identity, faith and beliefs and celebrates the school’s history.
Students and the parish community shared in the school’s event on Thursday, to end the term.
The reenactment aimed to share the reverence and solemnity of the death and resurrection of Jesus and the meaning of Easter.
