Both teams split the points but it was not enough to keep the team in the top four with one more match remaining before finals.
Elmhurst also made its move on the ladder, pickup up eight of the 10 points available from its match against Crowlands to put it 10 points clear at the top of the ladder.
Crowlands started well, winning the men’s section but fell away in the ladies and mixed sections to finish the round in second position following the loss.
Ararat pushed up into the top four for the first time this season after it had a bye.
The 10 points proved valuable for the team, as it looks to remain in finals contention to defend its premiership from last season.
The reigning premiers will face Crowlands in the final round while Elmhurst will host Landsborough.
Buangor has a bye and will have a nervous wait in front of it to see if the team has qualified for finals.
