Fire crews are still trying to extinguish a fire which has engulfed a brand new Avoca hay shed.
Five Country Fire Authority brigades have been at the Coffeys Lane property scene since 5am on Tuesday morning.
District 16 operations manager Neville Collins said the fire was contained, but still burning freely.
“We are waiting on heavy machinery to arrive and then we will assess what to do next,” he said.
Fire investigators and police have also attended the scene throughout the morning.
CFA advice issued to nearby residents said there was no current threat to the community, but recommended people to stay informed and monitor conditions.
It also mentioned smoke would be visible from Avoca, Natte Yallock and other nearby towns.

A brand new Avoca hay shed valued at $500,000 went up in smoke on Tuesday morning.
The 70 by 24 metre shed at Cofffeys Lane was filled with 2600 bales.
Country Fire Authority brigades were called to the blaze about 5am – it was deemed under control an hour later.
Investigations into the fire are ongoing.
