A ceremony will be held at 11am at Ararat Cenotaph in recognition of the signing of the Armistice.
There will be a morning tea served afterwards at Ararat RSL.
Those who served in the military will also be able to gain free admission to the Ararat Cup on Sunday when they present they service cards, courtesy of the Ararat Turf Club and the RSL.
Ararat RSL Sub-Branch has geared up for the annual Poppy Appeal, with half a million poppies expected to be sold across the state.
Poppy Appeal volunteers are selling the much loved red poppy to raise funds for current and former service men and women in need.
“Year in, year out, our community rallies together to support the Poppy Appeal in the lead up to Remembrance Day” Ararat RSL president Frank Neulist said.
You can purchase a poppy from your RSL Sub-Branch, or Woolworths.
