It will be the first time both the men’s and women’s team play the same round after the men were not scheduled to play the opening round.
Coach Steve Cronin said seeing the women’s team play last weekend made the men more excited for their opening match.
“The boys are very keen to play after watching the girls last weekend,” he said.
“We are taking 10 players, a few are unavailable but we are really excited to see where the boys are at.”
Cronin said he did not know much about the Kookas but expected a tough game. “Their junior program is pretty good, so I would imagine some good players have come through into the seniors,” he said.
“We have a good mixture of shooters who can all be on the court and step up at different teams.”
Cronin who is also temporarily coaching the women’s team said the lineup will have changes from the opening match.
“The girls will have a different line up this week with some players unavailable,” he said. “It has been very positive at training after last week despite the loss and they are keen to have a crack again this weekend.
“We have not played Colac in the senior competition, so again it is the unknown.”
The women’s team will take to the court for tip-off at noon with the men’s team to follow at 2pm.
