Show society president Yolande Hutson said the committee was hoping to nice weather for this year’s annual event.
“We got rained out last year and we had to cancel a lot of events,” she said.
“It was a bad year for us, so we are hoping for good weather this time.”
Ms Hutson said preparations were going well for the show. Children’s entertainment will be high on the event’s agenda, with Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre and Pockets the Clown set to perform.
Pockets will even make balloon animals for children.
Ms Hutson said people could also get health checkups at the show.
“West Wimmera Health Service will be doing health checks and the Wimmera Hearing Society will have its hearing van,” she said.
Other highlights include an animal nursery, blade shearing, lucky gate prizes and food.
“We have a barbecue and a lolly stall,” Ms Hutson said.
“There will also be the regular things like horse events, poultry, cooking competition and show girl.”
Ms Hutson said people could buy a show membership for $20, which included entry for two adults and two children.
“It’s a bargain, but people have to buy the membership before Friday to get the deal,” she said.
