The 2016-17 champions will be on their home court for the first match of the season and should go into the match confident of starting the premiership defence on a winning note.
Ararat’s grand final opponent from last season will have to wait a little longer to take to the court with Elmhurst fixtured to have the bye in the opening round of the season on Saturday.
The runner-up from the previous pennant season will open its season in round two against Ararat in a grand final rematch on the Elmhurst courts.
In the other match scheduled for round one, Crowlands will be on its home court when it clashes against Landsborough.
The 2016-17 champions will be on their home court for the first match of the season.
Crowlands showed last year it was capable of some high quality tennis, knocking off eventual premier Ararat late in the season and if the same standard can be replicated, then they should also start the season with a victory.
With a forecast of partly cloudy and 21 degrees, it should make for pleasant conditions on the court to get the new association season underway.
