SMW Rovers will face Penshurst in a bid to lock themselves into finals action on Saturday.
With a big loss to fellow finals contender Hawkesdale-Macarthur last week, the Bulldogs will no doubt come out firing against the Bombers.
The defensive combination of Linda Coutts and Brodey McKay-Haines were listed as the Bulldogs’ best against the Eagles, as they persisted throughout the match to make their opponents earn each possession.
The pair will need to be at their best as they come up against Penshurst’s Carly Behncke and Michayla McRae.
Behncke and McRae are both strong players and combine well in the circle for the Bombers.
Both are capable of scoring freely and will need to be subdued if the Bulldogs can pull off a win over the undefeated leaders.
Joanne Read moved into goals for the most part of last week’s match, providing a strong target in and around the circle.
Read worked hard through the centre and also helped take some pressure off shooter Peta Byrne.
If Read lines up in goals she will need to run hard at the ball and take possession strongly, otherwise Leah Rentsch is capable of causing an intercept or turnover.
SMW Rovers will want to record the four points to push back into the five but the Bombers are likely to be too strong across the court.
The match is set for a 1pm start at Penshurst Recreation Reserve.
