It was an even first quarter with the Rats taking the lead by one at the first break.
The home team was able to reverse the scoreline and take a one-goal lead into half time 24-23.
The Saints extended the lead in the third quarter to lead by four goals at the final change.
The Rats could not bridge the gap in the final term, losing 40-46 at the final whistle.
Rhi Davis topped the Rats scoring with 24 goals from 29 attempts and shared the best on court honours with Jess Williamson.
In B Grade, the Rats remain in top spot with a 50-45 win.
Alex Antonio starred in the win with 43 goals at 80 per cent accuracy.
Antonio and Racquel Scott were named the Rats’ best.
Ararat’s C Grade team had their first loss of the season, going down 39-27.
Jessie Shalders and Emily Borelli were named best on court.
The 17 and under team had a big 66-42 win against the Saints off the back of Lilly Sewell’s 41 goals.
The 15 and under team had a win also while the 13 and under team fell just short losing 14-27 to the Saints in round 13.
