The win was largely off the back of Hawks’ playing coach Adrian Pilgrim booting a bag of 10 goals in a best on ground performance for the reigning premiers.
The Hawks were slow to start in their previous match against the Eagles but were ready from the first bounce, piling on seven goals to one in the first term to almost put the match beyond doubt by the quarter time siren.
The second quarter was much the same, as the Eagles added their second major of the game to the scoreboard while the visitors continued to create chances in front of goal.
The Hawks were at their dominant best, as they added another seven goals to their tally to take a 76-point lead into the half time break.
The Eagles came out after half time and provided more of a contest around the ground.
In what is becoming a concern for Tatyoon, once again the third quarter was their worst for the game, scoring only one goal to the Eagles’ two.
The final quarter was another that favoured the visitors, as the Hawks finished big winners 20.11.131 to 7.6.48.
Tatyoon coach Adrian Pilgrim said he was pleased with the team’s overall performance against the Eagles.
“A lot of the things we had a strong focus on pregame with how we wanted to execute we did which was good,” he said.
“Our plan going into the game was to try and stretch them around the ground and capitalise on our midfield dominance and I think that showed.
“And we brought the right amount of intensity which gave us a lot of opportunities to score.”
Despite the lacklustre third term from the Hawks, there was other messages to come out of the match for the team.
Pilgrim said he is at a loss as to why it is happening after half time and has tried different things to change up the routine to no avail.
“It was probably just a lack of effort and intensity in the third quarter and just went through the motions a bit,” he said.
“We thought we might have been able to close up the percentage gap against Wickliffe-Lake Bolac which would have been handy come the end of the year.
“It has been spoken about the need for percentage but at the end of the day if we keep winning games, it will take care of itself and we will not need to worry about percentage.”
Zac Jenkins was named the Eagles’ best on ground with Brent Bulger topping the home team’s goalscoring list.
