Ararat Storm has taken an important step in their premiership defence, moving back to the top of the ladder by percentage after a 57-point win against the Lakers at Great Western on Sunday.

The Lakers are the only team to have knocked off the Storm, with a win in round three but the home team reversed the result of the back of some dominant forward pressure from the reigning premiers.
The home team started slowly with the Lakers getting on top early and kicked the only two goals of the first quarter to take an 11-point lead into quarter time.
Storm coach Krystal Cameron made some changes and it paid off, as the Storm kicked four goals straight while keeping the Lakers scoreless to take the lead at the main break.
The Storm continued to pile on the goals in the second half with the Lakers unable to add to their quarter time score as the home team finished comfortable 11.3.69 to 2.0.12 winners in the round 10 match.
Ella Wood starred for the Storm across the midfield and was named best on ground in the win ahead of Angela Stoneman.
Meg Wik led the way on the scoreboard, bagging herself four majors while Lucy Clarke and Wood chimed in with two goals each in the big win.
Cameron said it was an important win for the team both in regards to the ladder as well as mentally for the team, as they get closer to finals.
“Psychologically it is important for the girls I think, knowing we can run over the top of them,” she said.
“We know we will be coming up against them in finals footy, so that was why I thought it was so important to perform well against the Lakers on Sunday.
“We know we have the game plan and skills to beat anybody on any given day and I think everyone is starting to get a little excited about the future but we still have a few more games before finals.” Storm hosts North Ballarat City at Great Western on Sunday.
