The Magpies sit in third position and should go into the match confident of getting their eighth win of the season.
While the Magpies will be out for victory, it will also be a big occasion for the team, as veteran Danny Smith runs out for his 400th game against the Rams.
The 2016 grand finalists have been building into some strong form after a slow start and a win against the Rams would move the Magpies closer to locking a finals spot in.
With seven teams separated by eight points, every win is valuable and with six games remaining after this weekend, the Magpies will need to continue winning games to have a chance at going one better in the 2017 finals series.
The first bounce for the round 12 clash is scheduled for 2.15pm at Lake Bolac Recreation Reserve.
