Both shooters started the game strongly with the Bulldogs’ Peta Byrne and Rams’ Joanne Amott key targets for their teammates.
Byrne was accurate, shooting 12 goals from 14 attempts in the first term, as both teams were tied at 13 goals each at quarter time.
The Bulldogs pulled away slightly in the second term after the team made some positional changes to lead 25 goals to 22 at half time.
A 19-goal third term gave the Rams the advantage going into the final quarter.
Paige Spence had a quality game at wing defence for SMW Rovers, sticking tight to her opponent and always watching the ball.
It was the Rams that continued their form and went on to record a 54-48 goal win at Mininera to leave the Rovers in fifth spot.
