The Demons finished on top of the ladder.
The side has not lost a game all year.
The Saints were a couple of places back in third, with five losses, but overcame Ararat by two points in the preliminary final to book a grand final spot.
Saints coach Shane Bryan said he was proud of the way his team bounced back after a heavy loss to Ararat in the first week of finals.
“The character they’ve showed in the finals is great,” he said.
“It was an eight goal turnaround to win the prelim and now the team has that bit more belief.”
The Saints will rely on an even contribution from all its players to give the team the best chance of causing an upset.
“We don’t really lose anything from the top of players through to the bottom age players,” Bryan said.
“It will be the last time they get to play together as a group, so everyone wants to finish it off well.”
During the regular season, the sides met three times with the Saints coming within one goal and two goals on separate occasions.
The other meeting in round 11 was a four-goal win to the Demons.
“The Demons are undefeated and have been a class above the competition,” Bryan said.
“They’ve got us covered in terms of height but they also run and spread really well.
“We’ll have to match them with our speed and endeavour at the ball.”
Demons coach Shane Cross said the team had completed some solid workouts on the track during the week off leading into the grand final.
“We had a light training session on Saturday morning,” he said.
“There has been a special effort on the training track to keep them focused on the game.”
The Demons will also rely on an even contribution across the ground.
“We’re a pretty even keel really,” Cross said.
“We’ve been lucky this year with a lot of the younger kids having come through well.”
Cross said his midfield brigade had been good all season and expected them to do well again.
“Dawson Cross, Louis Beddison, Matty Lloyd and Jarrett Smith will to stand up in the midfield,” he said.
