The Rats lost a semi-final to Horsham Saints by one point. The Saints also won by one point in round 12 but lost to the Rats by 49 points in round five.
Ararat coach Michael Driscoll said there were areas that could be improved on to reverse the losses.
“In both of our losses we played pretty ordinary football,” he said.
“Every opportunity we get we must put it on the scoreboard. Scores have been low and we missed some easy chances last time against the Saints. Hopefully we can put in place everything we have been trying to do.”
Saints coach Gary Davidson said his team was just looking forward to playing another game of football.
“Their training has been fantastic over the last month,” he said.
“During finals they’ve been able to stay focused and play well together as a team. Hopefully we can kick a few more goals than last time though.”
