Stawell coach Bec Mellor said her side had been a pleasure to coach throughout the season. “The netball they play is of a very high standard,” she said.
“It’s a privilege to watch.”
Stawell finished the season top of the ladder and had the better of Horsham in the three regular season games between the sides.
When the sides met in the semi-final Horsham fell just one goal short of inflicting Stawell’s first loss of the season.
“Both teams are very strong,” Mellor said.
“The game will be played with great intensity and I imagine it will be a close game.
“My girls are strong and will handle the pressure.”
Demons coach Mel Scott said it would be about doing the basics well for her side.
“The main thing we have been focused on in preparation for finals is getting the basics right,” she said.
“That’s been one of the strongest points that I’ve been getting through to the girls, because against the top teams you don’t get another opportunity.”
Scott said she was extremely proud of her squad in what has been the first Wimmera league season for many of them.
“All the girls have exceeded my expectations,” she said.
“Their willingness to learn is wonderful.”
