The performance will take place on Saturday at the Crowlands Hall commencing at 7pm. The evening will be the celebration of the last day's planting for the 2014 Project Platypus plantout.
The management team at Project Platypus approached Ararat Live for assistance in arranging the entertainment for the 2014 plant out and Carus Thompson was the first performer to be considered.
Carus Thompson began his music career as front man to the band Carus and the True Believers in 1995. Since then he has toured Australia and Europe extensively.
Carus is no stranger to Ararat Live with a strong local following. He is a singer and songwriter that packs a punch with his high energy on stage performances.
The 2014 plantout has been carried out over four weekend plantings. A total of 15,000 trees will have been planted including 2,500 at Pomonal, 6,000 at Norval, 4,000 at Barkly and finally 2,500 at Eversley (Crowlands). The Crowlands evening with Carus to entertain the planters is a fitting reward to end the program. Project Platypus and Ararat Live are pleased to be able to extend an invitation to the general public to join them and the planters in celebrating the 2014 plant out; there is free camping available at the hall.
Participants in the plant out will be provided with a meal and free entry. The general public have a door entry of $20 and are welcome to bring their own drinks and nibbles.
If you would like to attend the plant out for the day commencing at 1pm please contact Project Platypus office ASAP on (03) 5358 4410.
