The annual Wimmera Bands Group Music School is being held in Ararat this year at Ararat College, with more than 100 students ranging in age from nine to around 70 participating in classes this week.
Most of the music students range from the age of nine to 20, and all are participating in both practical and theoretical classes this week, with two brass bands, a percussion ensemble, concert band and a string ensemble formed during the week.
The Wimmera Bands Group covers the area from Mildura, Nhill, Horsham, St Arnaud, Stawell, Ararat and Beaufort and is held annually in a different area, proving popular with band members across the region.
The Band School will culminate with a free concert this Sunday at 1pm at the Ararat College music room, and all are welcome to attend.
