Council's maternal and child health nurses held consultations and sessions across all centres in the municipality and 40 home visits were completed with a combination of new parent home visits and enhanced home visiting.
Two new mothers groups are currently operating with one in Ararat with eight to nine women attending and a small group at Lake Bolac with four women attending.
The School Immunisation Program has commenced and all secondary colleges in the municipality have been visited with year seven students and year nine boys having been immunised for their first dose of a three vaccine course for HPV, while year 10 students have been immunised for tetanus/whooping cough.
