Taurau has been rewarded for his stellar start to the Mininera and District Football League season, which has seen him named in the best players in three of the his four matches.
Taurau will join the Rebels as their 23rd player for the clash with Gippsland Power at Warrawee Park, Oakleigh.
Earlier this year North Ballarat Rebels talent manager Phil Partington told The Ararat Advertiser that the 17-year-old had impressed the Rebels' coaches with his endeavour during the summer training.
“We have been very happy with Tommy during the pre-season, he has worked hard,” he said.
“He has got fabulous speed, he’d be one of the quickest players in the squad this year. As a bottom age player we will be looking to develop his skills.
“When he gets an opportunity the beauty of Tom is that he can play forward, defence and even go on the ball. Having that versatility is a fantastic quality to have in a footballer.”
