MAROONA - Police have determined a house fire at Maroona on Saturday night, which claimed the life of a man, was not suspicious.

Members of the Country Fire Authority made the grim discovery after they were alerted to extinguish the blaze which started around 9pm.
While the deceased is yet to be formally identified he is believed to be a 47-year-old Maroona man.
Ararat Crime Investigation Unit detectives were at the scene at the weekend to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
An arson chemist has completed a preliminary report in which it concludes the fire was not suspicious.
The blaze, which destroyed the property, is estimated to have caused about $200,000 damage.
