Ararat Rural City Council will host Volunteer Week events in Moyston, Lake Bolac and Elmhurst next week, where volunteers will be presented with a special pin to recognise their work in the community.
Held from May 12 to 18, this year's campaign theme 'Celebrate the Power of Volunteering' is all about appreciating and understanding the work of volunteers across the nation.
Ararat Rural City Council recognises the valuable contribution of its volunteers and Mayor Cr Paul Hooper said without them council would not be able to service the community.
The Ararat Rural City Council National Volunteer Week celebration events will be held on:
Monday, May 12 - Moyston Public Hall (6pm to 7.30pm).
Wednesday, May 14 - Lake Bolac Information and Business Centre (6pm to 7.30pm).
Thursday, May 15 - Elmhurst Bush Nursing Centre (6pm to 7.30pm).
All volunteers are invited to attend, but are requested to RSVP to 5355 0200 or email council@ararat.vic.gov.au and advise which event they will be attending.
