There are currently three stores and this figure will be expanded to 350 stores across China. Initial orders have been placed for wine, lavender oil and pork.

Fundlong Pty Ltd is investigating 30 primary school children from Shanghai staying in Ararat and attending Ararat North Primary School for a three week placement. A Chinese teacher will be accompanying the children from Shanghai and will be based at Ararat North Primary School.

The teacher will be delivering language and cultural experiences and will also be visiting Moyston Primary School and Pomonal Primary School.

Ararat's Friendship City, Yiwu, has indicated that 10 teenage students who won an English speaking competition will be visiting Ararat in July for four days.

The students will be accompanied by two teachers and a member of the Yiwu Foreign Affairs department. The Economic and Cultural Development team will assist with the planning of the visit and liaise with local schools in relation to providing host accommodation and cultural experiences.

During the past three months Ararat Rural City has hosted three delegations from China, including from Dongyang, Guangdong Shenzen and Pudong New Area

Dongyang and Pudong are both wealthy trading cities and may potentially provide significant opportunities for the transportation and sale of products from the Ararat Rural City Council municipality.
