This follows the addition of two vibrant young veterinary doctors to the Ararat Veterinary Clinic.

The girls share a name, a high education and a passion for caring for our furry friends, whatever shape or size, in their time of need.

One is home grown, the other comes from not that far away either and both completed their Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Melbourne University.

Phoebe Todd grew up in Ararat while Phoebe Venables is from Ballarat originally but now calls Ararat home.

Ms Venables said she has family ties to the region so was familiar with it before relocating here, and so far she is really enjoying the work and the town.

"I'm still close to home, I am really enjoying the work and country living which has allowed me to walk to work everyday," she said.

Ms Venables has nothing but praise for Ararat owners of pets and animals.

"They treat their pets as if they are a part of the family, while a lot of the working dogs in particular are really well behaved," she said.

Ms Todd has returned to the clinic where she first did work experience as a year ten student eight years ago and placement for university not so long ago.

"I am really grateful for the opportunity to come back to the clinic, I love this practice and I'm really happy to be home," she said.

Ms Todd said she has treated a menagerie of animals in her short time at the clinic, placing a plaster cast on a ram and coming across a multitude of species, which is all in a day's work for the young vets.

"The owners have a lot of love and concern for their animals and we are here to help and hopefully make them better," she said.
